Jones County, TX (September 5, 2026) – Alexis Ivan Jimenez, 20, of Rio Grande City, was killed in a U.S. 83 accident late Thursday night.

It was before 11 p.m.when the fatal crash happened on the frontage road for Highway 277.

Police said Jimenez was walking on the road when a car driven by a 16-year-old driver hit him.

Immediately, Jimenez was taken to a hospital where he died.

This teen driver, on the other hand, was not hurt in the collision.

Officers are investigating the collision.
