GARDEN GROVE, CA (November 7, 2022) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Alexis Lopez after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Brookhurst Street.
 
The incident happened at around 1:55 a.m. in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street. According to reports, a hit-and-run vehicle struck and killed a 53-year-old transient. After the crash, responders transported the person to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. At this time, that person succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
 
His identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, authorities identified the driver as 26-year-old Alexis Lopez of Brea. Officers noted that the driver fled the scene. Then, an officer in the area managed to find Lopez who was stopped and allegedly showed signs of impairment.
 
Afterward, they arrested Alexis Lopez and booked him into Orange County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, felony hit and run, and felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
