Driver Alfredo Garcia Venegas Arrested in Cherry Avenue Hit-and-Run Crash [Fontana, CA]

16-Year-Old Girl Transported in Critical Condition Following Fontana Bicycle Crash

Fontana, CA (August 8, 2025) –  The authorities arrested Alfredo Garcia Venegas, 29, following a hit-and-run crash on Cherry Avenue Wednesday morning.

The Fontana Police Department said it was around 7:31 a.m. when the collision occurred in the area Walnut Street near Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga. 

Investigators determined that a 16-year-old girl was riding her bicycle to school when Alfredo Garcia Venegas crashed into her. 

The 16-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital in critical condition while Alfredo Garcia Venegas fled the scene just before the authorities arrived.

Police arrested Alfredo Garcia Venegas, after they located the suspected hit-and-run white pickup truck, a white Ford Ranger, in the city of Montclair later the same day of the hit-and-run crash.
