Phoenix, AZ (February 3, 2025) – 70-year-old Alicia Melero Dominguez died in a tragic hit-and-run crash on 37th and Peoria Avenues. 

Police are actively searching for the driver who struck and killed a woman early Monday morning in north Phoenix.

Officers responded around 6 a.m. to the area near 37th and Peoria Avenues, where they discovered 70-year-old Alicia Melero Dominguez suffering from severe injuries. 

Emergency responders transported her to a hospital, but she sadly passed away.

According to investigators, the driver fled the scene after the collision. Although police later located the abandoned vehicle nearby, no suspect was found inside. 

Authorities have not released a description of the person involved.

Investigators confirmed that Dominguez was jaywalking when the incident occurred.

Police urge anyone with information about the case to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. 

Rewards will be offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
