Nissan Altima Passenger Dead in I-70 Rear-End Crash [Kansas City, MO]

Kansas City, MO (February 18, 2026) – A person was killed and two others were critically injured in an I-70 rear-end crash Tuesday evening.

The authorities received the crash report past 5:30 p.m. at the intersection with Interstate 435.

Investigators stated that a Nissan Altima that was eastbound on I-70 when it failed to stop for congested traffic near the Truman Sports Complex. 

The Nissan Altima then rear-ended a Nissan van, with then resulted in a four-vehicle crash.

Responding officers declared a passenger in the Altima deceased at the scene, while its driver was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Moreover, an occupant in the Nissan van also sustained critical injuries and was transported.

Troopers are investigating this deadly crash.
