Alyssa Acord Killed in Tragic Crash Near Black Lake Boulevard [Olympia, WA]

Olympia, WA (June 29, 2025) – 42-year-old Alyssa Acord of Spokane tragically lost her life after a frightening crash near Black Lake Boulevard.

Early Saturday morning, a 62-year-old man drove his Honda Civic off southbound U.S. Highway 101 and struck a pedestrian standing on the Black Lake Boulevard off-ramp in Olympia.

Following the crash, the vehicle stopped on the right shoulder and the driver contacted authorities. Neither he nor his passenger sustained injuries.

Authorities arrested the man and booked him into Thurston County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and DUI. Washington State Patrol suspects drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 a.m. and closed the roadway for about three and a half hours.
