Man and Woman Hospitalized After Ambulance Crash on Gessner in Houston

Houston, TX (April 12, 2024) – On Thursday night, two medics sustained injuries in a crash on Gessner.

Reportedly, an ambulance flipped and crashed into a restaurant in southwest Houston, sending two medics to the hospital. 

The Houston Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on S Gessner near Westpark Tollway a little after 10:30 p.m. 

It appears that the private ambulance headed southbound on Gessner, changed lanes, and collided with a restaurant’s exterior before flipping. 

Officers with the Houston Police Department stated that the cause of the crash was unclear. Firefighters found the ambulance on its side with the two medics trapped inside the cab. 

They extricated the medics from the ambulance in about 20 minutes. The medics, a man, and a woman have not been identified yet. 

The man, who was driving, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive, while the woman sustained a broken arm and was hospitalized. 

As of now, no further details have been provided, and the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division was not called to the scene.
