Man Hospitalized After Crash on Route W in Queen City

Queen City, MO (February 13, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on Route W on Friday morning in Schuyler County injured the driver of a horse-drawn buggy after a minivan rear-ended the buggy near Queen City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A trooper who responded to the wreck told KTVO the crash happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Route W along the west edge of Queen City.

The trooper said a 22-year-old woman from Greentop drove the minivan eastbound when sun glare impaired her vision.

Investigators said the minivan struck the rear of an Amish buggy traveling on Route W.

The buggy’s driver, a 26-year-old man from Queen City, suffered moderate injuries. Schuyler County Ambulance transported him to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville for treatment.

A first responder at the scene said the minivan driver and the children riding on the buggy did not suffer injuries.

Hurt in a buggy or farm-vehicle crash in Missouri? Sweet Lawyers can help you understand your options—contact us for a free, confidential consultation.

Crashes involving horse-drawn buggies can be especially traumatic because the people inside have little physical protection.

Even a rear-end impact at seemingly modest speed can cause serious injuries, long recovery periods, and a sudden disruption to work and family life.

If you or someone you love was hurt in a buggy collision near Queen City—or in any crash involving a slow-moving or agricultural-style vehicle in Missouri—you deserve support that is compassionate, thorough, and focused on protecting your well-being.

At Sweet Lawyers, we understand how these cases often hinge on visibility and driver awareness.

Situations like sun glare, early-morning lighting, and limited sight distance can create hazards, but drivers still have a responsibility to travel at a safe speed, keep a proper lookout, and maintain enough distance to stop safely.

Buggy crashes may also raise important questions about roadway conditions, signage, shoulder space, and whether any reflective markings or lighting were present.

Sorting through those details can feel overwhelming when you’re already dealing with pain, medical appointments, and uncertainty about what comes next.

Our team helps injury victims by gathering and organizing the information that often matters most: crash reports, medical records, witness statements, photos of the scene and vehicles, and any available video footage.

We also help handle communications with insurance companies so you don’t feel pressured to give statements or accept quick offers before you understand the full impact of your injuries.

Depending on the facts, a personal injury claim may seek compensation for medical costs, follow-up treatment, lost wages, and the broader effects an injury can have on daily life.

Every case is unique, and we can’t promise outcomes—but we can promise to treat you with respect, communicate clearly, and advocate diligently.

If you’d like to discuss your situation, Sweet Lawyers offers a free, confidential consultation, and we typically work on a contingency-fee basis (meaning no upfront legal fees in many cases).
