CHP Arrest Driver in Fresno Deadly Vehicle Crash

Fresno, CA (April 9, 2026) – 44-year-old Ana Salcedo Jimenez, of Fresno, lost her life following a DUI crash on North Avenue Friday evening.

Troopers was around 6:30 p.m. on April 3, when a Ford Expedition ran a red light at the intersection with Clovis Avenue.

As a result, a westbound Mercedes-Benz on North Avenue was hit.

Jimenez was a passenger in the Mercedes, she was declared dead at the scene.

Moreover, the paramedics took the Ford’s driver to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Wilmer Alvarez-Leiva, Mercedes’ driver, although not at fault, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested her on a charge of driving under the influence.

The authorities are conducting a further investigation.
