15-Year-Old Andres Gomez Osornio Dies in Shafter Pocket Bike Crash
Shafter, CA (September 19, 2026) — 15-year-old Andres Gomez Osornio died after his pocket bike collided with a vehicle Wednesday night.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on September 16 at South Shafter Avenue and West Riverside Street in Shafter, California. According to authorities, Osornio was riding a pocket bike when it collided with a vehicle.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified Osornio as the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not believed to have contributed to the crash. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials also reported that Osornio was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation remained ongoing.
