Angel Dominguez and 3 Others Die in Tragic Crash on South Gulfway Drive [Sabine Pass, MO]

Sabine Pass, MO (May 20, 2025) — A deadly three-vehicle crash in Sabine Pass killed 28-year-old Angel Dominguez, and 3 others, while leaving several others seriously injured Monday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers said the collision occurred around 3:50 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Gulfway Drive along Highway 87 in Jefferson County.

Investigators reported that a Chevrolet Express passenger van traveled northwest when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Prevost passenger bus heading southeast. After the initial impact, the van went into a ditch, and an Audi traveling behind the bus crashed into the rear of the larger vehicle.

Authorities identified the van’s driver as 28-year-old Cesar Rojas of Baytown. Officials said Rojas and three passengers — Dominguez, 27-year-old Emmanuel Reynosa Rivas, and 27-year-old Osvaldo Alvarez — died at the scene.

Several other passengers in the van suffered injuries. Raul Silverio Trujillo, 38, received treatment at a Beaumont hospital and was later released. Rodolfo Garay Jr., 37, and Caleb Burge, 22, remained hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities also transported 50-year-old Fernando Rojas and 26-year-old Robert Zackery Sebastia Hoyt to a Houston hospital, though officials have not released updates on their conditions.

The 48-year-old bus driver from Vidor suffered injuries and was taken to a Port Arthur medical center. The driver of the Audi, a 28-year-old man from Rosharon, also went to a Port Arthur hospital, where he was treated and released.

DPS continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
