14-Year-Old Angel Ibanez Dies, 13-Year-Old Driver Involved in Los Banos Accident
Los Banos, CA (October 1, 2020) – On Tuesday, 14-year-old Angel Ibanez died in a vehicle crash involving a 13-year-old driver on Ingomar Grade Road.
The fatal Los Banos accident took place just before 5 p.m. north of Sylvester Road.
The California Highway Patrol said the teen driver was driving a 2001 Chevrolet at a speed of 50 miles per hour.
He has three teenage passengers in the car.
Moreover, the teen driver lost control of the vehicle while turning a curve in the road. The vehicle then went off the roadway, overturning multiple times.
The authorities pronounced the 14-year-old passenger, Angel Ibanez, dead at the scene.
CHP said the deceased was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, the teen driver, and his two other passengers, both boys ages 14 and 15, incurred minor injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP said the crash is under investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this incident.
Police have yet to make any arrests or charges.
