Kennewick, WA (November 4, 2025) — 31-year-old Angelica Morfin-Barajas of Richland lost her life after a deadly hit-and-run crash on Canal Drive early Friday morning.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 12:15 a.m. in the area of West Canal Drive and North Lyle Street.

Kennewick police responded after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Investigators determined that Morfin-Barajas was first hit by an eastbound vehicle that fled the scene, leaving her lying in the roadway.

Moments later, another westbound vehicle accidentally ran over her. That driver immediately stopped and cooperated with police.

Emergency crews from the Kennewick Police and Fire Departments rendered aid, but Morfin-Barajas tragically died at the scene.

Detectives believe the suspect’s vehicle is a red or maroon SUV or truck, likely with front-end damage—especially on the driver’s side, grill, and left headlight area. The hit-and-run driver reportedly continued east on Canal Drive after striking the victim.
