Angelina Romero and Rene Cardona Jr Dies in IH-20 Crash [Ector County, TX]

Ector County, TX (November 10, 2023) On Wednesday evening, 52-year-old Angelina Romero, and 35-year-old Rene Cardona Jr died in a tragic crash on IH-20.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal head-on collision happened on IH-20 near mile marker 106.

Reports say that Cardona was driving an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Impala on IH-20 service road, when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the eastbound IH-20 and entered westbound IH-20.

Meanwhile, 69-year-old Luis Flores was driving a westbound 2020 Hino truck with his passenger Romero, when Cardona’s vehicle collided with their vehicle head-on.

Authorities say that all 3 people involved in the collision were taken to Medical Center Hospital; however, Cardona and Romero succumbed to their injuries, and was declared dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Flores is in stable condition.

DPS is investigating the fatal head-on collision.
