Injuries Reported in Caruthers Auto Accident near Superior Avenue and Oak Avenue

CARUTHERS, CA (September 28, 2025) – Friday, Anna Almeida was arrested after a DUI crash near Superior Avenue and Oak Avenue.

The incident happened at about 5:00 p.m. near Superior Avenue and Oak Avenue.

Caruthers High School instructor and girls basketball coach Almeida was arrested after a crash in Fresno County, according to the CHP.

Investigators said the 44-year-old, who was volunteering at the Caruthers Fair, left the fairgrounds impaired and struck a parked car with someone inside near Superior and Oak avenues. The person inside suffered minor injuries.

Almeida continued driving home before being stopped by officers. She was determined to be under the influence and taken into custody. Authorities believe she may have been drinking alcohol while volunteering.

Almeida was booked and later released on bail.
