Four Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Accident on U.S. 2 Near Nason Creek

Nason Creek, WA (August 21, 2025) — A multi-vehicle crash on US 2 left 24-year-old Annie Yang and 3 other people injured late Monday afternoon.

The Washington State Patrol reported that traffic had slowed in the westbound lanes when 59-year-old Troy Peterson of Fort Pierce, Florida, attempted an improper pass. His vehicle struck another car, which then hit a parked truck before colliding with a third vehicle.

Peterson and his passenger, 51-year-old Jennifer Peterson of Mukilteo, suffered injuries and were transported to Harborview Medical Center. The second car’s driver, 24-year-old Kevin Chen of Philadelphia, was also taken to Harborview, while his passenger, Yang, was rushed to Confluence Health Hospital. The third driver was not hurt.

Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors. U.S. 2 was temporarily shut down in both directions following the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

Let Us Be Mindful of Others on the Road

When we drive, we are all part of a larger community of people who share the road. We owe it to each other to drive responsibly, be alert, and respect the rights of others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you—it protects your family, your neighbors, and even strangers on the road.

Together, we can reduce the number of traffic collisions and make our roads safer for everyone. Let’s drive with care, stay aware, and take responsibility for our actions.

Serious crashes can happen unexpectedly. Always use caution when passing on busy roads and never attempt maneuvers that put others at risk. Drive safely and help prevent future tragedies.

File a Personal Injury Claim in Case of Traffic Collision

A personal injury claim following a traffic collision is a legal process that allows an injured party to seek compensation for physical, emotional, and financial harm caused by the accident. These claims arise when a driver’s negligence, recklessness, or intentional actions lead to an accident resulting in injuries.

The first step in pursuing a personal injury claim is to establish fault. This normally involves gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, traffic camera footage, and photographs of the accident scene. A skilled attorney from Sweet Lawyers can help establish who was responsible for the accident, which is, indeed, necessary for determining liability.

Once fault is established, the injured party can then pursue compensation for damages, which may include but are not limited to medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering. Consequently, medical documentation and witnesses’ testimonies are essential for proving the extent of the injuries and their impact on the victim’s life.

Meanwhile, it’s important to note that the statute of limitations, or the time frame within which a personal injury claim must be filed, varies by state. Meaning if a claim is not filed within this window, the victim and the family of the victim may lose the right to seek compensation.

Know that a personal injury claim may be complex, but it offers an essential avenue that helps the victims to recover damages and hold negligent drivers accountable.
