Tucson, AZ (April 8, 2026) – The Tucson Police Department identified the bicyclist killed in a crash on Tanque Verde Road and Pantano Road on Tuesday, April 7, as 37-year-old Anthony Michael Pashano.

Police said Pashano died at the scene after a Ford Mustang struck him.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, did not suffer injuries.

Authorities confirmed that Pashano wore a helmet at the time of the collision.

A Tucson Police Department Motor Unit officer evaluated the Mustang driver for impairment and determined that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the crash.

Investigators said several factors contributed to the collision, including Pashano’s entry into the roadway from a private driveway without stopping or yielding, his presence in the lanes of travel on Tanque Verde Road, and the Mustang’s speed.

At this time, police have not issued any criminal charges or citations.
