Anthony Robert Valenzuela Dead in Vehicle Crash on Valencia Road [Tucson, AZ]

Tucson, AZ (December 6, 2025) – Anthony Robert Valenzuela, 51, was killed in a vehicle crash on Valencia Road Thursday night.

The deadly two-vehicle crash happened past 10 p.m. on December 4.

Troopers stated that William Frank Drake, 56, was driving a westbound Chevrolet Spark on Valencia Road at a speed greater than the posted 40 MPH limit.  As a result, he failed to stop for a red traffic signal at the I-19 overpass intersection.

Drake’s vehicle collided head-on with the Lexus sedan driven by Valenzuela. 

Investigators said Lexus was attempting to turn left from Valencia Road onto I-19 when the two vehicles collided.

Both drivers were declared deceased at the scene.

According to the authorities, Drake’s speed driving and failure to stop were the major contributing factors in this deadly crash.
