April Marie Green Dies in Tragic Collision on Highway 181

Four Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 181 in Karnes County

Karnes County, TX (June 29, 2025) — 40-year-old April Marie Green of Poth and 3 other people lost their lives following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 181 near Hobson Road in Karnes County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 8:00 a.m. when a northbound 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control, crossed into the southbound lane, and crashed head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Authorities identified the Tahoe driver as Green. She was the sole occupant of the SUV and died at the scene.

The Jeep’s occupants, all from San Antonio, also suffered severe injuries. The driver, 23-year-old Fernando Espinoza, and front-seat passenger, 25-year-old Abigail Lynn Espinoza, were pronounced dead at the crash site. Rear passenger 18-year-old Eleora Marie Espinoza was transported to a San Antonio hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
