Areal Casana Dies in Roll-Over Crash on State Highway 115

Two Injured in Deadly Vehicle Crash in Winkler County

Winkler County, TX (August 5, 2025) – 48-year-old Areal Casana of Lehigh Acres, FL, was killed in a roll-over crash on State Highway 115 early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the fatal 3-vehicle collision happened around 5:50 a.m. at the intersection with County Road 302.

According to the authorities, 24-year-old Teodricke Alexander Lamar Miller of Marlin slowed his 2019 GMC Acadia to make a left turn onto County Road 302. Behind him, 26-year-old Raheem Griffin, also of Marlin, failed to reduce speed and rear-ended Miller’s vehicle with his 2015 Ford F-350. The impact pushed the Acadia into a ditch, where it caught fire.

Griffin’s Ford came to a stop in the southbound lane, where it was struck by a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck driven by Casanas. The impact caused the Freightliner to overturn. Casanas, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed at the scene.

Emergency crews transported Griffin to Winkler County Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Miller, who wore a seatbelt during the crash, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the crash. No further details are available at this time.
