Arturo Marquez Rodarte Dies in Horrific Crash on Santa Monica (10) Freeway [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (August 23, 2026) — 48-year-old Arturo Marquez Rodarte died early Saturday after a single-vehicle crash on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Los Angeles.

The collision happened around 2:26 a.m. on August 22 in the Mid-City area, just west of La Brea Avenue. Authorities said the crash involved a green pickup truck traveling eastbound.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner later identified the victim as Rodarte. Officials have not released additional information about what caused the crash.

Authorities closed the freeway’s Nos. 3, 4 and 5 lanes while they investigated. The restrictions were lifted around 6:20 a.m.
