Police Search Two Vehicles After Hit-and-Run on West William Cannon Drive in Austin
Austin, TX (Dec. 4, 2025) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying two vehicles believed to be involved in a hit-and-run on West William Cannon Drive that left a moped rider seriously injured on November 28.
The incident occurred around 6:19 p.m. in the 700 block of West William Cannon Drive, according to the Austin Police Department.
Investigators say the crash involved a dark-colored Chevrolet Colorado pickup with a bed cover and a silver sedan.
Preliminary findings indicate that the Chevrolet pickup struck a moped and its operator, then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
While the injured rider was lying on the ground, a silver sedan—driven by a male—reportedly ran over the victim and also left the scene.
The moped rider suffered serious bodily injuries and was transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Photos of the suspect pickup truck, which may have front-end damage concentrated on the front right side, were released by APD.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at 512-472-8477.
A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for tips leading to an arrest.
