1 Dead in Abbott Vehicle Crash on S George Washington Boulevard and Obanion Road

ABBOTT, CA (August 27, 2025) – Tuesday morning, a woman died in a devastating auto accident on S George Washington Boulevard.

The incident happened at about 11:39 a.m. on South George Washington Boulevard and Abandon Road near the Abbott area.

Officials said a witness reported that a Toyota Camry failed to stop at a stop sign on Obanion Road and entered the intersection, where it was struck on the driver’s side by a semi-truck traveling about 55 mph.

CHP said the impact pushed the Toyota into an orchard on the southeast corner of the intersection. The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Sacramento, was killed on impact. Her passenger, also from Sacramento, suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted for advanced care.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured and is cooperating with investigators. CHP said drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
