PHOENIX, AZ (March 3, 2026) – Early Monday morning, a startling auto accident on Westbound Interstate 10 near Buckeye Road led to injuries.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on westbound Interstate 10 near Buckeye Road.

The major crash shut down Interstate 10 in one direction near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

An initial investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety found that a Jeep traveling east crossed into westbound traffic and collided with a white pickup truck.

DPS said the Jeep driver suffered serious injuries and was being investigated for impairment. The pickup driver sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Traffic was rerouted to northbound I-17. The freeway reopened around 6:45 a.m.
