Two Granbury Residents Killed in Head-On Crash with Semi on State Highway 6
Eastland County, TX (June 23, 2025) — Douglas Hartley, 56, and Autumn Campbell, 44, lost their lives following a head-on collision involving a semi-truck on Friday afternoon in Eastland County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 3:41 p.m. on State Highway 6 near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1853. Investigators said Hartley was driving a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound Freightliner truck tractor pulling a dirt semi-trailer.
Hartley, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. Campbell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected during the collision and also died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained injuries.
Authorities have not determined why the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic, and the crash remains under investigation.
Sweet Lawyers extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of Douglas Hartley and Autumn Campbell. We hope they find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Finding Support and Accountability After a Sudden Loss
Losing someone you love in an unexpected accident can turn your world upside down. Along with the deep emotional pain, families are often faced with practical and financial concerns—medical bills, funeral arrangements, and the sudden loss of emotional and financial support. These challenges can feel overwhelming when you’re already grieving.
During times like these, it’s important to know that help is available. A wrongful death claim may provide a path toward accountability and financial stability, helping families protect their future while honoring their loved one’s memory.
Through a wrongful death claim, families may be able to seek compensation for:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Medical care related to the final injuries
- Lost income and future financial support
- Emotional pain and loss of companionship
This process isn’t just about financial recovery—it’s about accountability. When negligence, reckless behavior, or impaired driving contributes to a fatal accident, holding the responsible party accountable can help bring justice and reduce the risk of similar tragedies happening to others.
While nothing can ever replace the life that was lost, pursuing justice can offer families a sense of closure and peace. It’s one meaningful way to honor a loved one’s life and legacy.
At Sweet Lawyers, we understand how heavy this journey can feel. Our experienced wrongful death and personal injury attorneys are here to answer your questions, guide you through your options, and stand by your side with compassion and care.
