Wrong-Way DUI Crash Injures Two on I-25 in Greenwood Village
Greenwood Village, CO (August 26, 2025) — Authorities arrested 21-year-old Ava Maria Rozsits early Sunday morning after she allegedly caused a wrong-way crash on southbound Interstate 25 near Orchard Road.
Police said Rozsits drove northbound in the southbound lanes around 2 a.m. and struck two vehicles. Paramedics transported two people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers reported that while managing traffic at the scene, another vehicle struck a marked Greenwood Village patrol car. A responding officer received medical evaluation on-site but did not require hospitalization.
Rozsits now faces charges including DUI, careless driving, and driving with a restrained license. She was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Center as the investigation continues.
Be a Responsible Driver
Be a defensive driver to prevent road accidents. Stay alert, maintain a safe distance, and always expect the unexpected. Avoid distractions, obey speed limits, and use your signals. Watch for pedestrians and cyclists. A proactive, cautious approach keeps everyone safer on the road. Drive smart, drive safe!
Drunk or impaired driving puts everyone at risk. Always plan—use a designated driver, rideshare, or public transportation to keep yourself and others safe on the road.
A Personal Injury Claim Could Help
A personal injury case is critical after a car accident, especially when there is an injured party caused by another driver’s carelessness. Automobile accidents can lead to painful physical injuries, emotional distress and financial ruin. Medical expenses, lost income, and expenses for long term recovery don’t take long to add up. One option for reaching a fair resolution to these damages is a personal injury lawsuit.
Filing a court action holds the wrongdoer accountable. It also forces insurance providers to offer a reasonable settlement, rather than a low-ball offer that may not be enough to cover all of your losses. In too many instances, the insurers who shouldn’t be in the business of trying to maximize their profits often look for ways to minimize their payouts. And your rights will be protected with the personal injury claim throughout this process.
Also, in a personal injury lawsuit, you may be able to recover noneconomic damages such as pain and suffering or loss of enjoyment of life. It’s often no less important than your medical bills. In suing, you also encourage safer driving by reinforcing the accountability of reckless or negligent drivers.
If you do retain an experienced personal injury lawyer, the case is likely to proceed much more smoothly and not only will you be led through the legal process, you will likely have a better chance of a positive outcome as well.
