Benjamin Alvarez Hurt In Shocking Hit-and-Run Crash on Sprague Avenue [Spokane Valley, WA]

Spokane Valley, WA (June 8, 2025) — 19-year-old Benjamin Alvarez of Clarkston suffered injuries in a hit-and-run collision Saturday night in Spokane Valley.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Sprague Avenue and State Route 27.

Authorities said Alvarez was driving a 2026 Subaru Impreza and making a right turn from Sprague Avenue onto SR-27 when a northbound 2016 Scion allegedly ran a red light and collided with his vehicle.

The impact totaled both vehicles. Following the crash, the Scion’s driver and passenger reportedly fled the scene on foot.

Emergency crews transported Alvarez to a local Spokane Valley hospital for treatment. The collision partially blocked traffic in the area before crews fully reopened the roadway early Sunday morning.
