Sanger, CA (July 24, 2026) — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Sanger as 71-year-old Bernard Anhelm and have arrested a suspect in connection with the crash.

Officers with the Sanger Police Department responded around 5:30 a.m. Thursday to Academy Avenue between Fourth and Fifth streets, near Sanger Park, where they found Anhelm suffering from severe injuries. He died a short time later.
