Police Investigate Fatal Crash at U.S 395 and Joshua Street in Hesperia
HESPERIA, CA (February 20, 2026) — An adult male bicyclist lost his life early Friday morning following a vehicle crash at U.S. 395 and Joshua Street.
Authorities received reports of the crash just before 6 a.m. on Friday, February 20, near the Hesperia Park & Ride and across from the Pilot Travel Center.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene after receiving a call regarding a traffic collision involving a bicyclist.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult male who had sustained critical injuries. Officials pronounced him deceased at the scene.
According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Department, the involved parties remained at the location and are cooperating fully with investigators.
The incident remains under active investigation, and authorities plan to release additional details as they become available.
Images from the scene showed a bicycle lying near the intersection with debris scattered across the roadway.
A white 2014 Toyota Camry and a green 2021 Subaru Forester, both displaying front-end damage, were present while deputies processed the collision site.
Investigators placed a yellow tarp over the victim as sheriff’s units shut down traffic in both directions along U.S. 395 between Joshua Street and Three Flags Court.
The fatal crash occurred the same morning officials had scheduled a groundbreaking event for Phase 2 of the U.S. 395 Widening Project.
A traffic advisory from the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority noted that southbound U.S. 395 was closed at Joshua Street due to a traffic incident and directed motorists to use Mariposa Road as an alternate route.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
