Police Search Driver After Fatal  Hit-and-Run Crash at Loop 323 and East 5th Street in Tyler

TYLER, TX (December 12, 2025) — Tyler police are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash at Loop 323 that claimed the life of a 19-year-old bicyclist.

According to the Tyler Police Department, the crash occurred Sunday when a vehicle struck the bicyclist and fled the scene. 

Emergency responders transported the young man to a local hospital, where he was placed on life support due to the severity of his injuries.

Police later confirmed that the victim’s family made the heartbreaking decision to remove him from life support.

Authorities initially reported incorrect information regarding the victim’s condition. After clarification from officials, police confirmed the bicyclist did not survive his injuries.

The victim’s identity has not been released. Investigators continue to search for the driver responsible, and no arrests have been made at this time.

The Tyler Police Department urges anyone with information about the hit-and-run to come forward as the investigation remains ongoing.
