Bicyclist Grey Chase Killed in Accident on State Route 9 [Pierce County, WA]

Pierce County, WA (January 10, 2025) – 39-year-old Grey Chase of Tacoma was killed in a bicycle accident on State Route 9 on New Year’s Eve.

The fatal traffic accident happened around 11:23 p.m. on December 31, 2024, at Tule Lake Road in Parkland.

Troopers said Grey Chase was riding an eastbound bicycle when he crossed the freeway and was struck by a 2009 Dodge Caliber.

Rescuers rushed Grey Chase to Tacoma General Hospital where he died.

The Dodge’s driver, a Tacoma man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
