Fatal Bicycle Crash in Kansas City Under Investigation

Kansas City, MO (September 26, 2025) – A bicyclist was fatally injured following a hit-and-run crash on Independence Avenue Wednesday night.

It was past 9 when the collision happened at intersection with Hardesty Avenue.

The collision report stated that an eastbound bicyclist on Independence Avenue went into the westbound lane at the intersection. Then, a white pickup truck that traveling west on Independence Avenue struck the bicyclist head-on and fled.

Responders declared the bicyclist dead shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, no information about the truck and its driver has been released, and no arrests have been announced. Police said they are still investigating the collision.
