Bicyclist Hospitalized in Lander Avenue Collision [Turlock, CA]

Turlock, CA (December 7, 2022) – At about 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, a bicyclist sustained serious injuries following a Lander Avenue collision.

The Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to the crash scene in the area of Bernell Avenue.

When they arrived, the rescuers found the bicyclist suffering from major life-threatening injuries. The American Medical Response ground-transported the victim to a local hospital.

A black Lexus SUV with unknown number of occupants was also involved in the collision. None of its occupants sustained any injuries.

Investigating officers said the black Lexus SUV had just exited a parking lot and drove southbound on Lander Avenue under the speed limit. At the same time, the bicyclist was riding his bicycle across the street at Bernell Avenue in the crosswalk. 

The Lexus SUV driver did not see the bicyclist until it was too late. The front of her vehicle collided with him.

Meanwhile, officers are still investigating the Bernell Avenue accident.
