The loss of a loved one in a bicycle collision is a heartbreaking tragedy that can leave families facing overwhelming grief and unexpected financial burdens.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the bicyclist who lost their life in this Denver crash.
Fatal bicycle accidents often require careful investigation to determine exactly how the collision occurred.
Investigators may review witness statements, surveillance footage, roadway design, vehicle damage, visibility, traffic patterns, and other available evidence to establish the sequence of events.
Even when criminal charges are not filed, families may still have questions about what happened and whether they have legal options available through the civil justice system.
Criminal and civil proceedings involve different legal standards, and the absence of criminal charges does not necessarily determine whether a civil claim may exist.
Families who lose a loved one in a traffic collision frequently face emotional trauma, funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and many other challenges.
Understanding their rights can be an important step toward obtaining answers and protecting their family’s future.
