Winterhaven, CA (August 16, 2026) — On Wednesday morning, two drivers suffered injuries after a shocking collision on Interstate 8 where a semi-truck overturned and collided with a box truck near the Agriculture Inspection Station.

The eastbound big rig failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center median, and entered the westbound lanes, where it struck the box truck. The impact caused the semi to overturn and blocked all westbound lanes while crews cleared debris.

The big-rig driver sustained minor injuries, while the box-truck driver suffered major injuries and required an airlift to a nearby hospital.
