Big Rig Crash on Interstate 15 Under Investigation [Devore, CA]

Early Morning Semi-Truck Collision on I-15 Causes Major Traffic Delays in Devore

Devore, CA (July 16, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a big rig crash on Interstate 15 Tuesday morning that disrupted traffic and may have led to injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 3:14 a.m. on southbound I-15 near the 215 split.

Reports say that a disabled semi-truck had stalled in the middle lanes when another big rig crashed into its trailer. Both trucks remained upright, but the impact caused significant damage and scattered debris across the freeway.

Emergency responders from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District and tow services arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. Crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen lanes.

By 3:56 a.m., CHP reopened lanes 1 and 2. However, traffic continued to move slowly due to residual congestion, which backed up as far as Kenwood Avenue. SigAlert reported delays of up to 20 minutes and warned of stop-and-go conditions.

The crash blocked two right lanes for over an hour while crews removed debris and towed the semis. A Caltrans traffic camera captured the heavy congestion as vehicles navigated through the reduced lanes under early morning lights.

CHP continues to investigate what caused the semi-truck to become disabled and the circumstances that led to the crash, officials have not released further details on possible injuries.
