Big Rig Driver Injured in Collision on Interstate 5 [Kelso, WA]

Kelso, WA (November 24, 2024) –  A 57-year-old big rig driver was injured following a traffic collision on Interstate 5 Friday night.

It was before 11:30 p.m. when the two-vehicle rollover crash happened near the freeway’s southbound off-ramp at exit 42.

Responding officers located the big rig on its side with its driver pinned inside.

The emergency rescuers first stabilized the big rig and then cut away the entangled metal from the driver. Troopers said it took them two hours to free the driver.

Afterward, they rushed the driver to a nearby hospital where he was treated for muscular skeletal injuries. The big rig driver incurred a severe injury to his lower left leg and was transferred to a trauma hospital.

Moreover, the pickup truck driver was also given a medical check for chest pain.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating.
