CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (August 6, 2025) – Early Sunday morning, a 16-year-old boy died in a brutal pedestrian crash on FM 856 and FM 13.

The incident happened at 5:23 a.m. when a vehicle struck a boy lying on the road on FM 856, south of FM 13.

Officers confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The Department of Public Safety has not yet released the names of those involved.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
