Brandon Lee Frausto Dies in Horrific Crash on US 83 [Dimmit County, TX]

Dimmit County, TX (June 15, 2025) — Early Sunday morning, 29-year-old Brandon Lee Frausto of Carrizo Springs lost his life in a rollover crash on US 83 in Dimmit County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 3:16 a.m. on U.S. Highway 83, roughly four miles north of Carrizo Springs.

Investigators said a 2024 Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound near Midway Park Road when the driver drifted out of his lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and left the roadway.

The vehicle entered a drainage ditch and struck a concrete embankment, causing it to roll over. During the crash, the driver, identified as Frausto, was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities said a truck tractor traveling in the northbound lane struck Frausto while its driver attempted to avoid the wreckage.

Authorities pronounced Fausto dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger in the Hyundai was taken to Dimmit Regional Hospital. Officials have not released information regarding the passenger’s condition.

DPS troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
