Brekeilyn Martin and Nicolas Wilkins Dies in Tragic Crash on CR 2270 [Wood County, TX]

Wood County, TX (January 31, 2025) On Monday afternoon, 19-year-old Brekeilyn Martin and 22-year-old Nicolas Wilkins were killed in a tragic crash on CR 2270.

According to the Texas DPS, the deadly solo-vehicle incident happened at about 3 p.m. on CR 2270 near Lake Holbrook.

Reports say that two men from Mineola lost their lives Monday afternoon after their car veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

The Texas DPS reported that the vehicle, heading west, left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Authorities identified the driver as Wilkins, with Martin as his passenger. Sadly, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
