Downing Motorcycle Crash Leaves ATV Rider Injured; DWI Citation Issued
Schuyler County, MO (June 18, 2025) — An ATV driver was hurt, and Brian Anders suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after losing control of his bike and colliding with an ATV in Schuyler County, Missouri.
The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on North 13th Street in Downing. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 55-year-old Downing man was traveling north on a motorcycle when he lost control and overturned.
After overturning, the motorcycle struck a southbound ATV operated by a 60-year-old man from Downing.
Emergency crews airlifted the motorcycle rider to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The ATV driver sustained minor injuries and sought treatment at Scotland County Hospital.
Following the investigation, authorities cited Brian E. Anders for driving while intoxicated involving drugs, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, and operating a motorcycle without a valid license or endorsement.
Officials also reported that neither man was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
