Brian Cisneros Injured in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on US-281 [Alice, TX]

Alice, TX (November 30, 2025) — On Saturday afternoon, 29-year-old Brian Cisneros of Edinburg, suffered injuries in a fatal crash on US-281, that claimed the life of 51-year-old Lee Roy Rodriguez of McAllen.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal incident happened around 12:45 p.m. on US-281 near Alice.

Reports say that the multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of a McAllen man and injured an Edinburg man.

Troopers responded to the scene and found that a 1999 Toyota Solara driven by Rodriguez had been traveling southbound when it reportedly struck the rear of a Kenworth truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. The Solara then crossed the median into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2019 GMC Sierra.

Moreover, the impact caused the GMC’s trailer to veer off the roadway, rotate, and roll over. The Solara came to rest in the roadway and caught fire with Rodriguez still inside. He died at the scene.

The GMC’s driver, Cisneros, suffered injuries and was first taken to Christus Spohn in Alice before being airlifted to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi. His current condition has not been released. The truck tractor’s occupants were not hurt.
