According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the multi-motorcycle crash on Highway 50 happened around 8:45 a.m., east of Highway 99.

Reports say that the tragic collision left one motorcyclist dead and four others with major injuries.

Authorities say that a vehicle reportedly collided with a group of 13 motorcycles. Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 42-year-old Shaw.

Moreover, Shaw’s death was classified as an accident by the coroner, with the CHP confirming that neither DUI nor intentional actions were involved.

The incident sent Shaw and four others to the hospital with severe injuries. Law enforcement closed westbound Highway 50 for over three hours to investigate the scene.
