TORRANCE, CA (September 30, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a person died in a brutal 2-vehicle crash near Prairie Avenue and Artesia Boulevard.

The two-vehicle incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. near Prairie Avenue and Artesia Boulevard.

Preliminary information indicates a black sedan collided with a silver sedan, then continued forward and struck a tree, according to surveillance footage.

A witness said she heard a loud crash and found a person lying on the ground next to the silver sedan. She also saw firefighters remove a woman from the black sedan and take her to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.

Authorities had not released the identity of the person who died or confirmed which vehicle they were in.
