LUBBOCK, TX (August 23, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on 98th Street and Quaker Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 98th Street and Quaker Avenue.

According to reports, an SUV collided with a pickup truck for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responders transported one person to Covenant Medical Center and one person to UMC, both with moderate injuries. Then, officers confirmed that the patient transported to UMC was later pronounced dead.
