2 Dead in Porterville Auto Accident on Newcomb Street and Teapot Dome Avenue

PORTERVILLE, CA (June 18, 2024) – Saturday night, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on Newcomb Street and Teapot Dome Avenue killed 2 people.

The crash occurred at about 7:17 p.m. in the area of Newcomb Street and Teapot Dome Avenue.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a 29-year-old man suffering from major injuries. 

Meanwhile, the Major Incident Investigation Team was summoned to handle the case. Investigators determined that the 29-year-old driver was traveling southbound on Newcomb Street at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Teapot Dome Avenue, leading to a fatal crash. 

Moreover, the collision resulted in the deaths of a 60-year-old man and his 74-year-old female passenger. The injured driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

Furthermore, the authorities are continuing the investigation and urge anyone with information to contact Officer Medina at 559-782-7400.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
