1 Dead in Houston Bicycle Accident on Willow Glen Drive

HOUSTON, TX (November 30, 2025) – Thursday, a 7-year-old boy died in a brutal bicycle crash on Willow Glen Drive.

The incident happened on Thanksgiving Day on Willow Glen Drive.

Sixteen-year-old August Moore was sitting outside when she heard something she says she’ll never forget.

“It was really sad to see the kid on the ground. I was crying a little bit,” she said.

She first heard the sound of a bike scraping under a truck, then realized a child had been hit. Moore ran to get her mother, Ebony Brooks, who called 911. Brooks said the driver was in a panic and begging for help.

“He was frantic. He kept saying he didn’t see the kid and was crying, asking someone to call 911,” Brooks said.

Houston police say the driver told investigators he thought something had fallen off his truck. When he got out to check, he found the bike lodged underneath and then saw the boy in the roadway.

Skid marks remain along Willow Glen Drive, a reminder of the crash that has shaken the neighborhood.

Police say the driver showed no signs of intoxication. Investigators are still looking into whether speed was involved.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
