FORT WORTH, TX (July 16, 2026) – Wednesday morning, 2 people died in a brutal boating incident on E Lancaster Avenue and Cooks Lane.

The incident happened at around 11:20 a.m. at a pond on private property in the area of E Lancaster Avenue and Cooks Lane.

Two men died after a boat overturned, authorities said.

Emergency responders found an overturned flat-bottomed boat in the water and recovered two victims. According to preliminary reports, one man was in the boat when it overturned, and a second man entered the water in an attempt to rescue him.

Both men were pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.
