1 Dead in El Paso Auto Accident on Loop 375 South near Pellicano

EL PASO, TX (June 25, 2026) – Thursday night, a 76-year-old man died in a brutal hit-and-run crash on Loop 375 South near Pellicano.

The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. on Loop 375 South near Pellicano.

Officers responded to the crash and found two vehicles at the scene.

Authorities said one of the motorists involved left the scene before officers arrived. The second driver, Manuel Oliva Contreras of East El Paso, was behind the wheel of a 2019 Nissan Sentra.

Contreras was taken to a hospital for treatment following the crash. Investigators initially believed his injuries were not life-threatening, but later confirmed that he had died.

The case has since been referred to the Special Traffic Investigations Unit, which is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and the driver who fled.
