1 Dead in San Diego Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 805 and Murray Ridge Road

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 3, 2026) – Thursday morning, a person died in a brutal motorcycle crash on Interstate 805 and Murray Ridge Road.

The incident happened just after 5:00 a.m. on Interstate 805 and Murray Ridge Road.

The California Highway Patrol said a northbound CFMOTO 450SS motorcycle crashed into a Ford Explorer on Interstate 805 south of Murray Ridge Road for unknown reasons.

The rider was ejected, landed on the roadway, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist’s name was withheld pending notification of family members by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

All southbound lanes of I-805 were temporarily closed but reopened around 7:50 a.m.

Authorities said it was unclear whether alcohol or drugs were factors. Anyone who witnessed the crash was asked to contact CHP at 858-293-6000.
